Professional Assessment

Help level the playing field for all children

When children start to struggle in school, you need to know why as soon as possible in order to provide the right support. Our qualifications in educational testing and assessment enable educational professionals to check children’s learning and progress and quickly understand whether there are any challenges that need addressing.

Our aim is to give teachers and SEND professionals the knowledge and confidence to use these tests appropriately and interpret their results. Once you have reliable information, parents can be kept informed and early interventions put in place. Carrying out appropriate tests can also facilitate more useful conversations with educational psychologists and speech and language therapists who are often in short supply.

These courses form the basis of a formal recognition of specific needs that pupils can use to gain additional support in public examinations throughout their time at school and beyond.

You may also be looking to achieve specific career goals, such as to become a:

  • Registered Test User on the British Psychological Society Register of Qualifications in Test Use (RQTU)
  • JCQ Access Arrangements Assessor (level 7)
  • Dyslexia Specialist Assessor who is eligible to apply for an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC)

“I feel much more confident interpreting psychometric tests. The course has allowed me to support the development of policies and procedures needed to undertake psychometric testing in my school – I would recommend Real Training as a provider.”

“I have completed a range of courses over the last five years but I find the Real Training courses the most practical and accessible. Completing the course has improved my confidence in the work I do. Secondly, being able to share information with colleagues has led to greater consistency in the team’s report writing. It has certainly made me a more reflective practitioner.”
